This Spring Break I got accepted in the S.W.E.A.T. Program! S.W.E.A.T. stand for Structured Work Experience and Training and it is with the Art Institute. The S.W.E.A.T. program is a program that offers an opportunity for high school student to gain work experience in a work-like environment in a chosen area. It offers a variety of different design/trade program like event management, animation, visual effects, fashion design and culinary! Faith and I happened to get accepted in the culinary area of the S.W.E.A.T. program! There was a lot of papers to fill out for the application including a "essay" on why you were suitable for the S.W.E.A.T. program. This years program was only 3 (more like 2) days, which was a big disappointment for me since I was looking forward for the whole week program but they were having renovations to move the Granville Culinary location to the Renfrew location.
Day 1
Actually it was more like Day 2 but Day 1 all we did was have a tour around the Granville location of the Art Institute and then we made our way to the Renfrew location for a gathering.
On Day 1 we mainly focused on breakfast food in the morning. We made Country Style Scrambled Eggs, Egg Benedict with Hollandaise Sauce, Tex-Mex Frittata, Blueberry Muffins and Fruit Platters. We made a buffet style table to serve all the food.
In the afternoon we made the bread for the sandwiches we were making for the next day. We made Soft Rolls and Baguettes. We also made the filling that we were putting in the breads. We made Egg Salad, Salmon Salad Mix and the bacon (which we put brown sugar on to make candied bacon).
For the soft rolls, we made single knots, double knots and figure eights.

I didn't take any pictures of the baguette because by the time we finished everything (cleaning) it was time to go and the baguette had still a long time to bake and I wanted to go home since it was like 7pm when we were done.
